Payments to Author 

• BN sales (including Amazon.com). The author receives 90 percent of all net sales through National Book Network, which pays Sanctuary 120 days after the sale of author’s books. Sanctuary Publications sells the author’s books to NBN at 50 percent of the list price. NBN adjusts for returns, keeps 12 percent of net sales as sales rep commissions, and charges pennies a day for unsold books in the NBN warehouse. Sanctuary Publications retains 10 percent of adjusted net sales from NBN in order to pay for the continuing promotion of the author’s book.
   

• Direct Sales by Sanctuary Publications. For all sales in local bookstores, Sanctuary Publications sells the author’s book at the wholesale price of 50 percent off the retail price and pays authors 50 percent of the net payments received from wholesale accounts, monthly.
  
  For retail shows, direct mail, mail order and any and all other sales permissible under our contract with NBN, Sanctuary will pay the author, monthly, 50 percent of the retail price of the book.
  
  If the author chooses to have her book available on the Sanctuary website as a downloadable e-book, the author will receive 50 percent of the e-book price.
